COVID-19 Update (May 2020)
FunctionWise resumes workability services during lockdown level 4 under strict COVID-19 prevention and control guidelines.
Current Situation
It was recently announced that South Africa moves to level 4 of the Risk Adjusted Strategy, as of 1 May 2020. The duration and progression between levels is unknown and will be continuously re-evaluated. For the foreseeable future, we are entering level 4 of the national lockdown. As we enter this uncharted territory of fluidity and uncertainty, we acknowledge, the only constant in life is change, making this pandemic challenging to navigate.
Our Approach
FunctionWise will be providing services which are considered essential and within the permitted regulations during level 4. As the possibility of the lockdown reverting to level 5 stands in the forefront of our minds, the recommended protocols will continue to be implemented. We hold the safety and protection of our staff, clients and families in the highest regard.
President Ramaphosa has urged us to be cautious and patient at this time to ensure infection rates do not increase. We have the responsibility to limit the spread of the virus. To this end, FunctionWise has and will continue to observe all COVID-19 health and safety protocols at all times. This includes the screening of staff and clients, frequent washing of hands with sanitiser or soap, sanitizing of workspaces and equipment , social distancing, implementation of engineering and administrative controls, safe work practices and the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
Workability Services (Level 4)
FunctionWise will be conducting Functional Capacity Evaluations, Fitness to Work screenings, Vocational Rehabilitation and Case Management services, to clients during level 4 lockdown. Remote support and services will also continue. The essential need of services will be determined on a case to case basis, considering various client-specific factors and circumstances. The core ethical values and standards required of health care practitioners will be adhered to at all times.
We thank you for continued support and understanding during this challenging time and know that the great sacrifices we have been called to make, are for our own future and for the future of others.
