Fitness-To-Drive

“Take responsibility for your driving decisions and maintain your fitness behind the wheel, by assessing your fitness to drive.”
– Takkie Pistorius, Founder & Managing Therapist

Assessment

The purpose of the assessment has two elements:

  1. Advice on the ways of compensating for impairments and disabilities with regard to driving.
  2. Assessment of continuing fitness to drive (which may need to be considered on a second occasion if the person is found to need retraining for example with aids or adaptations at the first visit).

The outcome of the assessment provides the person with a disability, their medical advisors / treating doctors with advice on the driving future.

The Fitness to Drive Assessment includes an office based assessment and on-road assessment in collaboration with a driving instructor.
